This small walnut writing chest of drawers opens at the waist with a drawer whose front, mounted on an inlaid compass, swings down using brass press buttons to reveal a writing space. The latter, upholstered in olive green leather with corner patterns, gold and cold vignettes, is accompanied by two small drawers with burr walnut fronts and turned buttons. This piece of furniture also offers three identical drawers and a slightly lower drawer forming a plinth. All of these drawers, apart from the latter, are equipped with functional original locks with posterior keys and chiseled bronze entrances. The whole thing rests on discreet rounded feet. The top is decorated with a double molding on the edge. The sides are dark with recessed boards.
