Important Teak Travel Trunk – Late 19th Century

This large teak chest is composed above, on the sides and on the front, of a single board each. A guarantee of solidity, the corners are decorated with brass reinforcements and, each edge, with straps also in brass. The dovetail assembled panels are also screwed. The lid locks with a functional, original two-point lock with chiseled surface entry and key. This cover, mounted on three hinges, is held open by a wooden element on the back of the chest. The interior offers a large storage space as well as three niches. Two side niches with lids carved with relief motifs and an open niche in the center arranged horizontally. This quality chest, equipped with a bronze carrying handle on each side, rests on front legs crafted in tiers. ******** period: late 19th century excellent condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshop delivery possible, in france and internationally dimensions: width: 83 cm depth: 51 cm height: 56 cm.
