Description
Old watercolor representing a joyfully colored bouquet of flowers, signed by jany francès millet, the great-granddaughter of the famous painter "of the gleaners" jean françois millet (1814-1875), both buried in barbizon, the village of the impressionists, renowned for "the barbizon school", of which he was one of the founders with camille corot and théodore rousseau. Jany françès millet was born in 1926, studied painting at the beaux arts in paris and presented her works in several parisian institutional salons from the 1950s. This watercolor is presented under glass and framed in light wood, in very good condition, its line removed, its light and lively colors are synonymous with joie de vivre and show an obvious taste for nature. Frame: 42/52cm (16.5"/20.5") watercolor: 30/40cm (11.8"/15.7") weight: 1.9kg.
