Fire extinguisher grenade 19th century

Full and closed bottle. Dating from the 19th century, these pretty intense cobalt blue bottles are fire extinguisher grenades. Neither corrosive nor explosive, they were used as a chimney fire extinguisher. The size of an eggshell, the glass envelope breaks very easily when thrown into the fireplace. The liquid thus develops a gas which instantly extinguishes the fire.
