E. Dammouse porcelain tea light holder by Haviland in lithophane

Porcelain tealight holder and porcelain biscuit following the principle of lithophane. A lithophane is an engraved or cast work in very thin, translucent porcelain that can only be seen clearly when backlit by a light source. The dammouse collection still exists in the haviland tableware catalog but the tealight holder is no longer published. The dammouse collection bears the name of its decorator edouard dammouse, who created a watercolor for haviland around 1880. - japanese-style flower decoration - signed haviland limoges under the background - dimensions: diam. 13.5 X h9cm - excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, a small black dot in the biscuit (original during manufacturing) - careful delivery.
