He began drawing at the age of 11, became a teacher, then a teacher. He participated in his first exhibitions from 1938, and was regularly present at the salons de indépendants, salon d'automne, as well as at the salons "comparaison" and that of the "painters witnesses of their time". He exhibited several times at the galerie drouant in paris, as well as in germany and the united states. Jean-baptiste granger frequents the painters of poetic reality, in a sure and assertive style, in the respect of the impressionist and post-impressionist tradition. He alternates landscapes of spain, the ile d'yeu, his beloved native creuse, views of paris or still lifes that are all subtle variations of colors, light, vibrant touches. He died on april 3, 1974 in the creuse leaving us a rich and diverse work, colorful and luminous, poetic and sensitive.
