Vintage engraved wooden box, Japanese yokai patterns

Vintage box finding a second life. It was engraved on the theme of yokai, the creatures of japanese culture. The lid is engraved with a reproduction of part of the famous painting "takiyasha the witch and the skeleton ghost", depicting two samurai grappling with a gigantic skeleton. On one side of the box is engraved the wind god fujin, and on the other the thunder god raijin. On the front are engraved tengus, while the back shows us a sitar that has come to life. The box has a clasp. The lid was cracked, but it was glued back on. Dimensions: length: 31.5cm width: 20.5cm height: 14cm.
