Puisaye stoneware water butter dish signed Jean-Pierre Prud'homme
Description
I admit that at first I had no idea what this ceramic was for, but I found it very aesthetic with its pretty curves and beautiful colors and I knew immediately, without having to look at the signature, that it had been created by jean-pierre prud'homme, a ceramicist whose creations I love. And the jp monogram underneath confirmed this. And after some research, I understood that it is a water butter dish that allows you to keep butter outside the fridge so that it does not go rancid while remaining malleable enough to be spread. This butter dish is made of puisaye stoneware with a very pretty enamel, slightly pyrite, mixing soft and comforting tones: beige, caramel and chocolate, typical material and colors of the 70s. A beautiful craft work by jean-pierre prud'homme who founded with his wife a craft pottery workshop in 1971 in monnaie, working with clay from nièvre (puisaye stoneware). This workshop still exists today (au grès du vent workshop), it is run by his son benoît prud'homme who took over in the 1990s-2000s and also creates very beautiful ceramics. This set dates from the 70s and is in perfect condition, no cracks, no chips, not even a chip. It consists of two pieces, a water receptacle which measures 9 cm in height, 15 cm in width including the handle, approximately 11 cm in diameter. And the butter receptacle that is placed on top which measures 10 cm in total height, 13 cm in width including the handle. The total height when the two pieces are "assembled" is approximately 12 cm. I offer several other ceramics by jean-pierre prud'homme, do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to order several so that I can adjust the shipping costs to a grouped shipment.
