Description
Hello, I am offering a bucolic and rural oil on canvas depicting a landscape with a water mill, which is rather a rarity in the field of fine art. A water mill is a structure that uses a water wheel or a water turbine to drive a mechanical process such as grinding grain, rolling or hammering. Such processes are necessary for the production of many material goods, including flour, wood, paper, textiles and many metal products. The water mill provides most of the grinding while the windmill has two disadvantages: its crushing power is weaker and its productivity depends on an often capricious wind. In the 11th century there were more than 6,000 water mills in England. Frame dimensions: 33.7 X 26 cm. Frame dimensions: 27 X 19 cm. The very high quality canvas stamped Sennelier is very well stretched. It has been cleaned and restored, an anti-UV varnish has been applied. The original frame is beveled, it also comes from the Sennelier manufacture where the year 1885 appears on one of the sides. The frame probably from the same period is in solid oak, it has been completely restored, resized and varnished. Very serious seller with packaging on photos.
