Description
Very beautiful traditional painting, typical of Mexican craftsmanship, bright colors, made by hand on the Mexican papyrus, called "amate", paper made with the bark of some fig trees. It dates from the 60s or 70s, when these paintings were the essential tourist memories of this country. Often they were of a smaller format, this one is really big. The colors, still beautiful, and the birds and flowers bring cheerfulness into the house, and attract the eye for sure. It is framed (frame in khaki brown wood and transparent plastic, equipped on the back with a metal wire to hang it on the wall). The work is in perfect condition. What could pass for discolorations or marks on the photos, are only reflections that I did not manage to avoid by taking the photos in natural light). The frame has some inconspicuous scratches on the plastic and some marks on the wood. The white background paper under the amate looks very slightly curled in places. The frame measures 78 cm by 58 cm for a thickness of 1.5 cm. The painting measures 59 cm by 39 cm. The whole weighs 2.15 kg.
