Wooden sculpture representing a female figure baoulé, an ethnic group from côte d'ivoire renowned for its refined art and votive sculptures. This statue is characterized by an upright and hieratic posture, arms folded on the hips, a face with elongated and stylized features, as well as an imposing headdress in the shape of a tray. The natural patina and wear of the wood testify to its antiquity, estimated between the 1950s and 1980s. The sculpted details, in particular the treatment of the face and the headdress, as well as the pearl and fabric accessories around the neck and waist, reinforce its authenticity and its ritual symbolism. It rests on a later wooden base, facilitating its exhibition. Total height: approximately 55 cm, base included. Condition: good general condition with traces of natural wear on the patina, accentuating its authenticity. This piece is a fine example of african tribal art and will find its place in a collection as well as in an ethnic decoration.
