Chest of drawers in blond mahogany (thick veneer) by Monpoix (recognized designer and interior architecture. 1925/1976) Very good condition. The top is stained (see photo) but no missing, scratches (it has been used for 70 years!!) The rest of the chest of drawers has an impeccable varnish 3 drawers including an organizer. Brand "Charles Monpoix, in this drawer (see photo) Black iron legs. Very good condition French designer and interior architect, André Monpoix (1925 – 1976) belongs to the young generation of decorators of the 1950s. Student of René Gabriel, Maxime Old and Jacques Dumond at the National School of Decorative Arts, he graduated in 1949 and immediately hired by Jacques Dumond who introduced him to the profession for four years. His first creations were exhibited at the Salon des arts nationaux. 1951 and met with great success with the public which encouraged him to create his own agency in 1953. Then began a long collaboration with his favorite publisher Meubles TV where he joined his friend Alain Richard, exclusive creators of the brand from 1955. , the two young designers create resolutely contemporary furniture by designing pieces with clean lines, careful finishes and produced in small quantities. Combining wood with glass or metal, André Monpoix's style is very modern at this time. period of reconstruction and will influence many creators. The mastery of his creations was rewarded in 1962 with the René Gabriel prize.
