Description
This wet nurse's chair, also known as a nursing chair, dates from the early 20th century. Designed specifically to provide comfort to mothers while breastfeeding, this low bentwood chair is distinguished by its ergonomic shape and careful design. Made of beech, it has elegant curves, characteristic of the thonet style, although it does not bear a specific mark. Used mainly in children's bedrooms or nurseries, this chair allowed wet nurses and mothers to sit comfortably near the crib, while maintaining an ideal posture for breastfeeding. The seat is low, 30 cm from the ground, which facilitated access to the children. The wooden seat shows signs of wear with a natural patina, testifying to its history and use. The dimensions are as follows: total height of 60 cm, seat of 35 cm in diameter, for a seat height of approximately 30 cm. Although it shows signs of time, the structure remains robust, making it an authentic and charming piece, ideal for collectors or for vintage decoration.
