Six pastel earthenware plates from Digoin and Sarreguemines antiques

The six hollow plates are in good condition, no accidents, no cracks or splinters. However, even if it seems that they have served quite little, they are old and have some irregularities, which are, for the most part, very slight manufacturing defects. On the outer edges we can sometimes guess the marks left by the metal claws that allowed to hold the plates during the enamelling process. The color of the enamel varies from one to the other slightly, depending on the "bath" that was used. The plates were handmade by specialized workers, in a very artisanal way, and are therefore not all exactly identical. The plates are all marked on the reverse of the stamp of the earthenware factory, in black ink. They date from the 40s, and this pastel, minimal service, which met with great success at the time finds its place today effortlessly in a contemporary and elegant interior.
