Midcentury danish dining chairs ‘sawbuck’ hans wegner

Rare find! These beautiful original danish dining room chairs were designed by the well-known hans j wegner. Produced by carl hansen & son. Model: ch 29. Country of origin: denmark. This design classic is also called the 'sawbuck' chairs because the model resembles a sawhorse. This chair was traditionally used in the scandinavian countries by carpenters and woodcutters. Originally designed in 1952 for carl hansen & son. This model was withdrawn from production in the 1970s. 20 years later, wegner's daughter proposed to take this chair back into production. The ch29 chair is a popular model to this day due to its simple construction, which offers a lot of comfort and yet is visually a sight to look at! This unique set of 4 is the original 'old' model from the 1960s. Still fitted with the original terracotta & brown leather seat. Considering the age in a good vintage condition. The leather has some signs of wear, but this gives a nice patina. Beautiful vintage design dining room chairs for the dining room table in the living room.
