Antique plaster bust after Antonio Canova, "Hebe", circa 1900

Old antique bust in patinated plaster representing hebe, daughter of zeus and hera, goddess of youth and protector of young spouses. Model late 19th - early 20th century after the sculpture in feet by antonio canova made around 1800 (see photo). There are many similarities between the features of this hebe and those of pauline bonaparte - borghese, immortalized by canova in "venus victrix" at the same period... Old bust in very good condition, with its patina and some traces of time, but without lack and without cracks. Beautiful expression, soft and serene. Perfect for decoration in a neo-classical, contemporary, and even design or art deco atmosphere... Height 60 cm, width 33 cm, depth 26 cm.
