Description
Very beautiful model of side table, or small writing table, dating from the first half of the 20th century. Made of mahogany marquetry, it is nuanced by the use of a "red" mahogany and a blond mahogany. In the directoire style, it is the symbol of this style of furniture dating from the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, a transitional style between the louis XVI style and the first empire style. Its spindle legs end with a brass shoe, typical of the directoire style. Opens in the central crosspiece by a small drawer, the handle of which is a floral crown ring, reminiscent of the louis XVI style. The top has a diamond marquetry in 4 leaves, nuanced by the use of blond and red mahogany. Veneered on an oak frame, this table has all the qualities required of high-quality furniture. French work, more precisely from the faubourg saint antoine in paris. In good condition, the table has a slight state of use due to its age and use.
