Numbered 96/115, signed at the bottom. Probably from the 70s. A subject that is at once poetic, mythological and mystical, specific to the universe of this exceptional artist: In Greek mythology, amphitrite is a goddess and the female personification of the sea. She is the wife of the Greek god of the sea , Poseidon, and lives with him in a golden palace under the sea. Pretty aluminum frame from the 70s, beautiful framing with passe-partout and marquise in paper and fabric. Dimensions: H69 x l57cm. Condition: Good state of conservation for this lithograph, slightly yellowed paper, some dust between the glass and the engraving. About the artist: Born in 1921 in Paris, Pierre-Yves Trémois was admitted to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in 1938. He then worked in the workshop of Fernand Sabatté, a former student of Gustave Moreau. In 1943, he received the Rome Grand Prize for painting. On February 8, 1978, he entered the Academy of Fine Arts (engraving section) of which he became the dean. Several exhibitions are dedicated to him, such as in 2019 at the Cordeliers refectory in Paris.
