Three vintage "Waggon" model wall lights by Louis Poulsen, 1960s
Description
3 superb and rare Louis Poulsen design lights from the 60s, no longer produced today. Although Louis Poulsen is best known for its iconic lights, such as the PH5, designed in collaboration with Poul Henningsen, or the AJ lamp imagined by Arne Jacobsen, the "waggon" model has nothing to envy these icons, both for its innovative design and its unique aesthetic. In the early 60s, the Louis Poulsen brand was inspired by the old lights, present in the first class carriages of Danish trains. The aim was to create a recessed light, as discreet as possible, resulting in an aluminum structure covered with a brass disc, with a curved and matt opal glass lampshade. With its rounded shape and its elegant marriage of brass and glass, this lamp is a real gem. When lit, it diffuses a soft and pleasant light, through the frosted glass, without glare, while the brass ring creates a nice contrast. It works perfectly with a standard e27 bulb (provided). The "Louis Poulsen" label is present, guaranteeing its authenticity. The visual effect is particularly striking when combined as a trio. Nice patina, with some signs of wear testifying to their history. 3 unique vintage pieces for design lovers! Dimensions: ø24 cm X p. 12 cm.
