1951 estelle and erwin laverne marble dining table. This stunning 1950s dining table, designed by erwine & estelle laverne for laverne international, features a 3cm thick carrara marble top with beautiful veining, supported by chrome-plated tubular legs. The legs are secured to the underside by a steel sub-frame, with chrome discs marking their points of connection. The table shows minor wear consistent with its age but retains its striking presence. Known for their innovative designs, the lavernes were pioneers in mid-century modern furniture, using new materials like fiberglass and lucite and marble and metal, and their work remains highly regarded for its sculptural quality and functional elegance.
