Morocco multi-color fabric carpet with berber alphabet

This is a handmade berber rug that I bought in the atlas mountains in morocco directly from a co-op of female weavers. I fell in love with the original colors and the unusual technique. This is a unique piece, they do not repeat these drawings. The carpet is made of strips of fabric that they weave tightly together. They then added the berber alphabet by inserting strips of fabric across the carpet. At the edge of the carpet, the wool that holds the fabric together is woven together in braids. The woman who made the carpet told me it took 3 months to make. The carpet was not used and is still new, it was unfortunately the wrong size for my dining room. The length of the carpet includes the acorns. The thickness of the carpet is 1cm at the base and 2cm where there is a piece of the alphabet.
