Pair of Carlsbad JKW porcelain plates with representations of Napoleon by Vernet

Period: ca. 1947-1952. A pair of beautiful collector's plates in german porcelain by the carlsbad jkw factory (josef kuba). The plates have a turquoise blue color and are decorated with arabesques and golden edges. The centers feature two painted napoleonic scenes; these are paintings by horace vernet and have his signature. The manufacturer's brand on the back dates from 1947-1952. Status: no damage. One of the golden borders has gilding where the work is less neat (see photo). Dimensions: 26.5 cm diameter.
