Description
Period: ca. 1920-1940 a magnificent eight-piece toiletry set, made by the famous val saint lambert; this set is called valembert and can be found in the luxval series catalog from 1935. It is made of molded-pressed semi-crystal and has diamond point designs with yellow overlaid details. The glass is heavy and the details are crisp and of good quality. Val st lambert is a world-renowned belgian crystal factory known for their high quality products. The luxval series emerged after the economic crash of the 1930s in order to offer a range of items that were more economical than their traditional cut crystal pieces; luxval items were generally made of pressed glass and semi-crystal and in the art deco style. The set consists of three perfume bottles of different sizes with caps, two lidded powder jars, one with a frotelle, a ring sizer, an oval cup, and a drinking glass. The cup is marked with 'val st lambert déposé' (difficult to capture on photo). Condition: very good. Dimensions: bottles: 14.5, 13 and 10.5 cm high pots: 11 and 6 cm high baguier: 7.5 cm high oval dish: 24 X 8.5 cm glass: 10 cm high, 7.5 cm diameter.
