This armchair was nicknamed "the rest machine" by charlotte perriand, le corbusier and pierre jeanneret because of its ergonomics. Le corbusier, charlotte perriand and pierre jeanneret joined forces for 10 years, over the period 1927-1937. Their collaboration will lead to the development of furniture such as lc1, lc2, lc3 and lc4. The company was founded in 1927 by cesare and umberto cassina and specializes in the manufacture of high-end furniture. In 1964, cassina acquired the rights to the collection of charlotte perriand, le corbusier and pierre jeanneret. They then launched the "cassina I maestri" collection by selling the lc1, lc2, lc3 and lc4. Subsequently, the company became the only one to produce le corbusier's furniture. Cassina was acquired by poltrona frau in 2005. Identification number: 42308. Certified original Cassina edition.
