These baskets are woven in rwanda. They are the result of an ancestral know-how that is passed down from mother to daughter. They can be used as much as a basket to store, either as a wall display. They are made from sisal and sweet grass. The colors are made with natural dyes, for example with dyes from dried tea leaves. This average basket is 30 cm in diameter and 8 cm deep! This basket comes with a hook so you can attach it to the wall. The largest are between 40 and 45 cm in diameter. Medium baskets are about 30 cm in diameter. The smallest is 15-20 cm in diameter. Craftsmen work 1-2 days to weave a small basket, 2-3 days to weave an average basket and 5-7 days to weave a large basket. How to take care of them: dust them lightly and regularly to keep the colors bright. Do not display them in full sun as this can make colors disappear over time. Keep away from moisture, as this can cause mold. Keep away from heat sources as they can dry out the fibers.
