Danish vintage pendant lamp AJ Royal 500 by Arne Jacobsen, Louis Poulsen, 1959

The AJ Royal lamp was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1960 for the SAS Royal hotel in Copenhagen (Radisson Blu). AJ Royal is characterized by a clean, geometric shape and excellent lighting properties. The hemispherical housing of the luminaire provides excellent, soft light. The lamp was part of the overall design concept of the hotel. Several hotel products have achieved the status of design icons today, and in the field of lighting, AJ Royal lamps in particular have gained worldwide fame and are still produced today.
