Bear Fight

This is a large and impressive art deco statue depicting the violent fight of bears. It was designed by béla markup (1873-1945), circa 1927. Markup created this work for the zsolnay porcelain factory (hungary). Made of porcelain, hand-painted, the fight of the bears is in excellent condition. Dimensions: height: 30 cm. Width: 21 cm. Length: 17.5 cm. Marking: - signature of béla markup in the plate but barely visible - green seal with five turns - made in hungary - depth: 5. Provenance: from a private collection.
