Born in Varedo, Italy, Borsani was deeply immersed in the world of design from an early age. His father, Gaetano Borsani, was a master cabinetmaker who founded Atelier Borsani Varedo, a prestigious furniture workshop known for its high-quality craftsmanship and custom-made pieces  (The workshop became known for its luxurious and elegant designs, blending neoclassical influences with modernist principles). His early works, while rooted in classic Italian craftsmanship, displayed a strong Art Deco influence, eventually transitioning into the sleek, rationalist designs that defined Italian mid-century modernism. In 1953, Osvaldo Borsani co-founded Tecno, a company that became a major player in the production of industrially manufactured modern furniture.  While Tecno became Borsani’s primary focus, his earlier works under Atelier Borsani Varedo remain highly sought after for their elegance, high-quality materials, and timeless craftsmanship.
