Round covered box in gilded metal

Charming little golden metal box nicely patinated, brass probably. I've had it at home for a while, and it seemed like there was a tiny square label underneath "made in india", but it must have come off. It is in good general condition, but has signs of use: stains, scratches, a little corrosion, a small sinking, the gilding has faded a little on the handle of the lid. It is 10 cm high, including the lid, and has a maximum diameter of 8 cm. It weighs about 220g.
