Founded by roger capron, jean derval and robert picault in 1946, the callis workshop represents an important milestone in the history of french ceramics. Located in vallauris, an essential reference in the world of ceramics in france, atelier callis has played a crucial role in the evolution of the style and aesthetics of contemporary ceramics. Active only from 1946 to 1948, the pieces from this workshop are rare. This large vase with three large, moving handles, in red earth glazed with green and cracked white, is a superb example of their early work. Marked with the earthenware pot and callis on the reverse. France, circa 1946. Good condition.
