The drawing, executed in charcoal and red chalk, captures the silhouette in a reflective and introspective posture and shows the sketching work and gesture of the artist. The work, executed on thick paper, is signed and dated "debus 1960" at the bottom right. Note. A task should be noted under the signature. The drawing measures 47 cm by 60 cm. Maurice de bus (1907-1963) studied at the national school of fine arts and won the prestigious rome prize in sculpture in 1937.
