Vintage navy aluminium chair. Navy aluminum chair, authentic vintage piece. Manufactured and used in submarines in 1944. The navy chair made of recycled and anodized aluminum was designed by an american company and commissioned by the u.s. Navy for use in submarines and warships. The contract specified that the chairs must withstand the impact of explosive devices. The manufacture of the navy chair gives it a life expectancy of 150 years and is of course a guarantee for life. The navy chair or, emeco 1006, has now become an icon of design but also of american history. This chair appears regularly in fashion and decoration magazines but also in television series and films such as sex and the city, doctor house and in the film batman the dark knight. The history of this chair is visible by its many wear points, making it a beautiful piece of vintage design witnessing the passing of time. Authentic vintage furniture. Good condition.
