Biography: Johann jungblut (16 april 1860 – 17 december 1912) was a german landscape painter of the düsseldorf school. Self-taught, he acquired the art of painting. In 1885 he moved to düsseldorf, where he seems to have played the role of a loner and lived in the pempelfort district in 1889. Johann jungblut's painting is heavily based on flemish primitives. He specializes in misty winter landscapes painted impressionistically on dutch waters, with the sun low in the sky. He also frequently paints norwegian fjords and other motifs in this way. He executed some of his paintings under the pseudonym j. M. Sander. It is speculated that he could also be hiding behind the pseudonym j. Metzler.
