Pair of celadon-glazed stoneware ceramics. Origin: thailand, 15th-16th century. Most likely from the sawankhalok kilns, at a time when artisans from the kingdom of siam produced and exported their ceramics en masse following the ban on the international trade of chinese porcelain by edict of the emperor. The technique consisted of firing at very high temperatures a clay covered with a mixture of wood ash and iron oxide. The result was a highly prized, shiny glaze in shades of green that is now called celadon. Here is a small jar and a small cup, in good condition considering their age. All defects are visible in the photos. The small jar measures 6 cm high and 6 cm wide. The cup measures 5 cm high and 8 cm in diameter. The small bouquet of dried flowers as shown in the photographs will be offered.
