High back armchair by charles rennie mackintosh. This chair was designed in 1904 for the drawing room of hous'hill, the residence of catherine cranston, owner of a series of tearooms in glasgow. The importance of this sculptural piece of furniture lies in its aesthetics rather than its function or comfort. Dark stained wood and inlaid pieces of agate. Dxhxl: 56x125x58 cm. Seat hight: 43 cm. Some very small holes in the upholstery (see photos).
