This pair of armchairs was designed by willem hendrik gispen (1890-1981), that were part of kembo’s previous collection. The models date back from the 1950s. Hans lensvelt calls them “evergreens”. Lensvelt proclaims “the aesthetic quality of these chairs are exceptional. Having said that, the designs also fit flawlessly in today’s interiors. ” Currently, there are 130 of the w.h gispen 301 & 302 chairs in the reception area of ​​the stedelijk museum, amsterdam. W.h. Gispen was a dutch industrial designer, best known for his giso lamps (1929) and serially produced functionalist steel-tube furniture.
