Vintage square shaped Pewter Vase by Helgi Joensen, Norway 1980s

A lovely signed norwegian pewter vase designed and made by helgi joensen for illums, norway in 1980s. A special vase carved in pewter with a relieffed surface. The vase is terrific for a flower in it- or just as a great decorative rare object. Very good vintage condition and nice pewter patina. Signed underneath with helgi joensen, hafrsfjord, pewter, norway. Measures: 15.3cm h X 5.5cm d X 14.3cm w. Helgi joensen (b: 1932) was born on the færøyene islands but lived his entire adult life in norway, from 1963 in stavanger. Since 2004 he has had his workplace in galleri helgi in brønderslev, north jylland - denmark. He bought himself an old farm he converted into a lovely gallery and studio. Until 2008, he also ran his own gallery in stavanger. Helgi was well known for his sculptural vases that make impressive statements in their own right with or without floral decorations.
