Potiche in cloisonné and bronze enamels, Japan – late nineteenth

Description
Japanese potiche made during the meiji era, in cloisonné enamels on a blue background decorated with a multitude of small golden spirals. This ovoid shaped pot is decorated with flowers and polychrome foliage and the base of the neck is surrounded by a stylized black and red frieze. The base, collar and ends of the lid of this potiche are made of bronze. A stamp in japanese characters is affixed to the underside. With its characteristic shape and harmonious colors, this potiche seduces with its brilliance and meticulous ornamentation. ******** Period: late nineteenth. Excellent condition. Size: Height: 26 cm.
