A fine carafe attributable to legras in french glassware from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Legras & cie was a renowned glass manufacturer, famous for its hand-painted, artisanal glassware, often incorporating nature-inspired designs, in keeping with the art nouveau movement. This asparagus bunch-shaped carafe has its lovely original asparagus-head stopper. Total height 31 cm. The body is frosted glass with painted details in green tones to recall the natural appearance of asparagus. Patina of time with wear on the paint, no chips. A rare piece in this condition.
