Cocoon tripod floor lamp by Friedel Wauer

Very rare floor lamp designed by friedel wauer for his ‘cocoon’ series and produced by goldkant leuchten in germany during the 1960’s.it features an internal black steel structure with four light sockets and is covered with sprayed resin cover forming a leatherette-like, silky skin which provides a beautiful, soft light effect. This stunning piece has similarities to the work of achille castiglioni but the geometric pattern on the column makes it stand out. Some wear on the metal and darker staining on the base of the resin sleeve, which disappears mostly when the lamp is lit. There’s also a 4 mm cut in the fabric, but it’s not very disturbing. Good overall condition. This statement piece can literally lit and lift up a whole room. Comes with a new socket plug and the original foot button.
