Subsequently, they settled in vallauris, a renowned center of ceramics in france, particularly from the 1950s, a period when the city experienced a notable artistic boom, notably thanks to the influence of figures like pablo picasso. Their daughter, martine picard, also worked with them before opening her own workshop, ardéco, in vallauris in 1970, with her husband gilbert azema.
