Richard edes harrison was an american cartographer and illustrator known for his work on world maps and atlases. He was born in 1901 in boston, massachusetts, and studied geography and art history at harvard university. Harrison has worked as a cartographer for several publications, including time magazine and the new york times. He is also known for creating maps for the 1939 world's fair in new york. Harrison is considered one of the first cartographers to use illustrations and colors in maps to make geographic information more attractive and accessible to the general public.
