Glass cabinet of the eighteenth century

Description
Make no mistake: this cherry cabinet/showcase dates from the time of louis XVI. This is immediately apparent in the quality of the wood, the subtlety of the proportions and the traditional work of high quality. It opens through a large glass door that locks with its key, keyway and lock. It pivots on small rounded brass hinges. The glass is period, and when we look a little bias, we discover small ripples and discreet air bubbles that testify to its age and its manufacturing process. The white wrinkled fabric curtain is posterior, as is its fastening system (small metal rods). But the contrast created with the patina of the wood is very effective. Inside, two shelves, one more recent, on racks (therefore adjustable). The bottom of the furniture is made of solid wood, and we can distinguish the traces of the tools left by the carpenters of the time. The fluted uprights end with slightly tapered feet in excellent condition. Apart from a slight spacing of the boards of the tray (see photo) and some accidents inherent to its age, it is in excellent condition. The advantage with 18th century furniture is that it brings a real authenticity to an interior while blending perfectly into a more modern landscape thanks to their clean lines. Height: 143 cm. Width: 90 cm. Prof: 50 cm. Payment upon collection. The price is firm, thank you.
