Metz Amos beer tin sign from the 40s. Dimensions: h80 X l50cm. Hanging holes at the top and middle. Traces of time. —- 💡 the amos brewery – metz – 1868/1992. From gustave amos to gérard frantz the personality of the amos leaders was decisive. Pioneering and development spirit for some, clairvoyance and willingness to adapt to market realities for others, for more than 120 years they knew how to give metz its brewery. We invite you to discover this gallery of portraits, some images of the life of amos and a series of advertising objects. This tribute would be incomplete if it did not at the same time salute the thousands of workers, brewers and employees who were the natural ferments of a company whose name will remain attached to metz. The third child in a family of eight, Gustave Amos was born in Wasselone in 1840. His father Jean successively ran a candle factory, then a soap factory. At a very young age, Gustave learned brewing techniques from his uncle Edouard, a brewer in Wasselone. He would make this profession his destiny. After a tour of France during which he perfected his brewing techniques, Gustave moved to Metz in 1868. He rented for three years, then bought from Jean-Baptiste Reinert, the brewery located on the corner of Rue Hollandre-Piquemal and Rue d'Heltz, opposite the Belle-Isle hospital. The premises quickly became too cramped and, in 1874, the brewery moved to Sablon.
