Description
Iconic work that has become difficult to find and sought after. Original lithograph by the painter guillaume corneille (1922-2010), born in liège to dutch parents and founding member of the cobra group with karel appel, asger jorn, constant, dotremont and subsequently alechinsky and jacques doucet signed and dated in graphite by hand of the artist at the bottom. Artist' s proof with atelier corneille stamp on the back. Total dimensions: 62 X 46 cm - very good condition - secure shipping with ups exhibition of 75 years of cobra since june 1st at the cobra museum in amstelveen. Opening of the cobra depot in antwerp. Release of a cobra / corneille stamp at bpost in 2023 identified as an important figure in the renewal of abstraction in northern europe, corneille gradually moved from 1967 towards a rich and colorful new figuration which coordinates with the pop art taste of the 1960s and 1970s, and exhibited alongside andy warhol, arman, césar, etc.
