Description
Thonet chair from the early 20th century. The dining chairs were originally designed by the thonet company in 1904 and can be found in thonet sales catalogues under the model number 3. This particular piece is believed to have been manufactured by the thonet company in one of their factories in the former czechoslovakia. The seat is made of leather and the round seat with the thin circular support and the gentle arch of the legs are both a trademark of thonet design in the early 20th century, and the subtle curvature at the front of the chair makes sitting even more comfortable. This detail was then widely used from the 1930s onwards. These types of chairs were very popular not only for their comfort, but they were also often used by architects in restaurants around the world. We believe this is due to the essence of their design which fits perfectly into any interior - whether modern or traditional. The chair is in excellent vintage condition with only minor wear and patina acquired over the years. Dimensions: H80 X W59 X D50.
