Description
This superb vintage Mexican enameled terracotta candlestick is a 3-armed tree of life, decorated with a rich plant decoration in autumnal colors: orange-brown, green and blue. We can see beautiful sculpted flowers and leaves, a few pearls or round fruits, and at the top, 2 small birds, elements attached by metal rods allowing them to be slightly oriented. It is a rare piece of Mexican folk art around 70, in the style of Alfonso Soteno (family of ceramic artisans specializing in sculptures called "trees of life"). Good general condition, note a lack under the petal of one of the flowers on the left as shown in the last photo (barely visible when orienting the fruit next to it from the front), dimensions: l28 h 25 p8 cm.
