Description
Although they undeniably date back to the 1960s, these beautiful vintage french stoneware pitchers and cups, handcrafted and originally designed to serve cider or orangeade, also have a timeless quality. The pitcher and cups are large; the pitcher has a capacity of just over 1.5 liters and the cups can each hold more than 250 ml. Although handmade, these items are sturdy and designed to stand the test of time. Although they are not true digoin, they are almost identical to this well-known brand. Their peach hue, with traces of pale stone and dark brown speckles, is rather warmer and brighter than that of darker sandstone items of the same generation. Under some lights, they have an ochre tint. They have a nice smooth but delicately sandy texture and are pleasant to hold in the hand. The oversized handle of the pitcher makes it easy to pour water. They are truly typically french, and in addition to adding that sought-after rustic farmhouse feature to a home, they can also fit perfectly into a minimalist, uncluttered and simple space. As they are made of stoneware, they have a natural heat capacity that keeps liquids cool or used for hot drinks. They look very pretty on the dining room table and their soft color goes perfectly with a neutral or scandinavian color palette or scheme. This set is in excellent condition, except for one of the cups whose edge is slightly chipped (photo). Size: pitcher height: 23cm. Pitcher diameter: about 11 cm. Cup height: 12.5cm. Cup diameter: 8cm.
