Cat handcrafted sculpture

Adorable cat sculpture of which I am unable to determine the material (clay. Resin?) so I will start by describing my impressions to you: a soft material, smooth to the touch, slightly warmer to the touch than earthenware or porcelain type ceramics, relatively hard but easily prone to scratches. We can see that it has been well smoothed and worked with the fingers, a nice piece of craftsmanship. In terms of aesthetics, the cat's body is very nicely sculpted, with beautiful proportions, a natural position which clearly characterizes a cat which stretches its neck because a noise has caught its attention. The design of the “face” is very simple: the eyes, the mouth, the mustaches have been engraved in the material. For the color, it is a dark sand color enhanced with black. I won't be able to date it, all I can say is that I found it in a collection of objects and ceramics dating mostly from the 70s. It is in good general condition, no chips, but a few small marks distributed over the entire body revealing a light sand color underneath. It measures 16 cm in height, 7.5 cm in width approximately, 10 cm in depth approximately.
