Lovely pair of vases from Maison Lalique, the "dampierre" model Made from clear crystal, molded in part satin finish with relief bird decoration. Designed by Marc Lalique in 1948, this model is a beautiful tribute to two themes dear to René Lalique, fauna and flora. Handmade in France, this vase showcases the art and meticulous craftsmanship for which Lalique is renowned. Its intricate design, reflecting the harmonious blend of flora and fauna, embodies a sense of the beauty of nature. Period: 20th century. Style: art deco. Dimensions: height: 12.5cm – diameter: 12cm Dimensions of the base: width: 8cm X length: 8cm. Signature under the base: “Lalique France” In 1945, on the death of his father, Marc Lalique took the reins of the Lalique company. He uses his technical knowledge to renovate and modernize the wingen-sur-moder factory. Lalique quickly took its place among the largest French and foreign crystal makers and the contrast between transparency and satin specific to the brand became famous throughout the world. Among the works of Marc Lalique, we particularly remember the angel glass, which takes up the motif of the angel with the smile of Reims Cathedral, as a nod to the origins of the Lalique family, or even the bottle of the famous perfume l' zeitgeist, for nina ricci. He died in 1977, leaving his daughter Marie-Claude the reins of the Lalique crystal factory.
